NSW government forced to spend $20m cleaning up Truegain contamination, sparking environmental law overhaul

TOXIC: The heavily-contaminated Truegain waste oil refinery site at Kyle St, Rutherford, will cost the NSW government at least $20 million to remediate after the company went into liquidation.

THE NSW government has introduced to Parliament sweeping changes to environmental laws in a bid to make polluters more accountable, revealing it will be forced to spend $20 million cleaning up Truegain's legacy at Rutherford.
