The Beaumont track, which is being used until upgrades to the course proper are completed by spring next year, has been well received by jockeys and trainers.
But NJC chairman Geoff Barnett said some people were still unsure of its location.
“There are still some people who don’t realise that the Beaumont track is part of our Broadmeadow facility,” Geoff said.
“Some even think it is in another part of Newcastle.
“They see the work being carried out on the course proper and think that we aren’t racing at Broadmeadow.
“Obviously, that isn’t the case.
“We needed to give the track its own identity and chose the name Beaumont.
“I’m confident with time people will come to know it as a big part of our Broadmeadow racing complex.”
The track hosted its fifth meeting under grey skies on Saturday and will host a picnic meeting on December 5 before the NJC’s annual Boxing Day meeting.
