The Marlins staged a stirring final-quarter comeback to beat Cardiff 10.17 (77) to 9.10 (64) in the do-or-die semi-final.
The Hawks held a 27-point lead at the final change but the Marlins rallied and took control of the game in the dying stages and held on for the victory.
