As the East Coast Low which dumped a January record of nearly 300mm in less than 24 hours across parts of the Hunter began to move out to sea, more than 80 Raymond Terrace residents were waiting for the predicted peak of the Hunter River floodwaters before discovering whether their homes were safe.
