Joan Manning received the accolade during Scone’s Australia Day celebrations at council chambers.
“I just want to thank those who nominated me,” she said.
“It’s a pleasure to be here, and what I’ve done is because I really love doing everything that I do.”
Joan’s been an active member of the local community for many years, bringing her love of music to young and old alike.
She has volunteered her time at Scone Grammar School for more than a decade, playing the piano as accompaniment for the kindergarten choir known as the Kindy Krooners.
It is just one of several musical contributions.
Some other events she has actively been involved with include parties, weddings, debutante presentations, ballet music, preschool singing, physical culture at Scone Public School, dance music at St Mary’s Primary School, music at nursing homes and the Senior Citizen’s Centre, fashion parades, Christmas carol performances, Australia Day celebrations, church functions, and with the Transclub at Transcare.
Joan has also performed at the ANZAC Day service at Gundy for over 50 years and with the Old Time Dance Band for more than six decades.
