Jarrold, 57, pleaded guilty yesterday to indecently assaulting a boy twice in the 1970s and to six other charges relating to child pornography and procuring a 15-year-old boy for sex.
Six other offences, including an indecent assault on another boy in the 1970s, will be taken into account when Jarrold faces a sentencing hearing next week.
Five other indecent assault charges were withdrawn.
The online conversations Jarrold saved on his computers from 2003 onwards included detailed descriptions of sex acts he claimed to have carried out with boys involving torture and bodily waste, a fact sheet said.
One man he chatted with online will face Wagga Wagga Local Court this month charged with producing child pornography.
Jarrold told that man that he obtained sexual pleasure from children screaming or whimpering in pain.
Jarrold and a teenager in England, who called himself Ashes, masturbated and performed other sex acts during live web-cam recordings to each other.
In another online chat they discussed a range of sex acts that could be performed on children.
During that chat, Jarrold wrote: "Have to kill them so they wouldn't [go to the police]."
He later wrote: "Don't think I could actually kill anyone . . . but the rest would be fun."
Jarrold wrote to another person in May last year about a teenager who had lunch at Jarrold's home.
Jarrold said a group of men had sex with the teenager, who told police he was 17 at the time.
Jarrold also tried to organise a sexual liaison with Mitch, 15, whom he chatted with at a website.
Mitch was a police officer posing as a teenager.
They chatted on numerous occasions from August 10 to September 16 when Jarrold suggested they meet at a Terrigal hotel. Jarrold was arrested the next day and refused bail.
