“My goal for the mural was to create an uplifiting, feel-good experience for visitors who come to do their shopping,” project director Debra Liel-Brown said.
Under her watchful eye, the project began in August, as a partnership involving Port Stephens Council and businessman George Proszkowiec.
“All the artists involved have given a great deal of time to this,” Ms Liel-Brown said.
“It’s very hard to paint ‘realistically’ – the artists have created a mural to a very high commercial standard.”
The mayor Bruce MacKenzie opened the installation off William Street last Wednesday.
