Wickham station originally opened in 1936. The structure will eventually be replaced with a light rail depot building including offices.
There are no plans to demolish Newcastle station but Civic station’s fate remains less than assured.
UrbanGrowth consultation revealed split votes over what should happen to Civic.
“People expressed personal and historical social connections with the station buildings,” the report said.
