Hundreds have attended open training sessions, families from throughout the Hunter Valley travelled for the coaching clinic on Tuesday night and businesses have held breakfast meetings at No.2 to watch the Wallabies train. Everyone has wanted in on the action.
To their credit, the Wallabies players and management could not have been more obliging.
“It has been a fantastic week,” NHRU general manager Andy Fairful said. “They are here preparing for the Bledisloe Cup, and for them to make time to meet fans is really good. Juniors are not worried about wins and losses, they just want to be meet their heroes, the superstars.”
Fairful hopes the Wallabies visit might be a catalyst for other high profile teams to frequent the region.
“Whether it has been NRC teams or teams at at seven tournaments, when they get here and experience No.2 Sportsground or Southern Beaches’ facility, they love it.”
