
Police have charged a second man in relation to an alleged assault at Hamilton South earlier this month.
The 35-year-old will face court on Sunday after his arrest on Saturday in connection to the May 6 incident.
Police allege two men entered a Hamilton South unit and used iron bars to assault the occupant.
The 35-year-old has been charged with malicious wounding in company, using an offensive instrument in company, having the intent to commit an indictable offence and break and enter.
He was refused bail and will appear in Newcastle Local Court on Sunday.
The other man previously arrested in relation to the incident, a 26–year-old, will next appear before Newcastle local court on July 5.
