Man assaulted after he wakes to intruder at Woodberry

Police said an intruder entered the Segenhoe Street home about 4am and confronted a 25-year-old man who was sleeping inside.

The intruder allegedly assaulted the 25-year-old with the piece of wood before he fled the scene.

The victim was treated at the scene and didn’t require hospitalisation.

Police established a crime scene and have urged anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
