TWO Newcastle companies have won $100,000 a piece at the Launch Festival Startup Competition in Sydney.

Rapid Phenotyping and Crave beat hundreds of applicants to pitch their tech products and were among the seven startups from of a pool of 31who walked away with the the $100,000 Incubator investment prize.
Launch managing director Jason Demant said that once due diligence had occured, food app startup Crave and Rapid Phenotyping, which has developed a handheld “chemistry lab” to test agricultural and food products, would receive their prize and attend the 12-week Launch incubator program in San Francisco.
He said the program was “100 per cent focused on growing companies” and included introductions to “top Silicon Valley investors”.
