Police have charged another person with murder over the death of Belmont man Wade Still.
A taxi driver found Mr Still with extensive burns on the side of Oakdale Road at Whitebridge about 1am on Monday.
The 23-year-old died as paramedics were air-lifting him to Sydney’s Royal North Shore Hospital.
A 49-year-old man was arrested at Bennetts Green on Wednesday afternoon and was charged with murder on Wednesday night.
The Belmont North man was refused bail and will face court on Thursday.
Police will allege the 49-year-old was known to Mr Still.
It comes a day after police arrested and charged 35-year-old Belmont man David John McCauley with murder over Mr Still’s death.
Mr McCauley faced court for the first time on Wednesday. He was refused bail and will face court again on August 28.
Police from the State Crime Command’s homicide squad joined investigators from Lake Macquarie and Newcastle police districts to form Strike Force Yaraandoo this week to investigate Mr Still’s death, which they treated as suspicious.
The strike force’s investigation is ongoing.
