Less than a week after wrapping up SuperUtes commitments at the Newcastle 500, Charlotte Poynting has announced she will race the next stage of qualifying for the Formula 3 W-Series in Europe.
It means the 20-year-old Novocastrian will be travelling to Austria in January and trying her hand at a fourth motorsport discipline in the space of 12 months.
Poynting has jumped between SuperUtes and Aussie Racing Cars already this year and is currently part of the 2018-19 SsangYong Racing Series in New Zealand.
She was one of 55 women to progress in the F3 series qualification rounds and was “excited” about the chance to expand her skill set.
It’s great to be a part of this amazing opportunity for women in motorsport,” Poynting posted on social media.
“I can’t describe how pleased I am to have been given the chance to possibly race in Europe in 2019 and to jump out of my comfort zone and into a Formula 3 car!
“I’m more determined than ever, I can’t wait!”
