Golf’s Order of Merit
TORONTO’S Dave Alexander was a runaway winner of the Newcastle District Golf Association Order of Merit.
Alexander, who didn’t play in the season-ending WE Alexander Open which was worth double points, won three events and finished in the top-five in six others.
His victories came in the Pacific Dunes Cup, Horizons Cup and Vinery Cup. He is also a member of Newcastle’s open men’s representative team.
Justin Ely’s equal-second place in the WE Alexander leapfrogged him above Mick Wade into second place. Chris Turnbull and Greg McMillan were equal fourth.
Alexander is the third winner of the order of merit following Josh Greenwood and Mick Wood.
