Time Out festival will encourage locals to take time out of their busy lives to enjoy activities that promote physical, mental and emotional health and wellbeing as well as connectedness to their community.
The festival will be held at Morisset High School on Sunday, November 17. It will be staged by Morisset Rotary Club.
Rotarian Suzie Shing said Time Out would feature activities, demonstrations, workshops and stalls.
"Fitness equipment is being provided by Southern Cross Fitness, Warners Bay," Ms Shing said.
"There will be rowing and cycling challenges as well as demonstrations of different gym and exercise styles such as cross fit, zuu and tai chi."
The festival would have attractions to encourage locals to take Time Out for physical activity; creativity; fun and food; and for community and connectedness, she said.
"The festival will be a unique, creative, experiential day for all members of our community to come together and participate in a fun day of craft, art, fitness, fun activities, music and food," Ms Shing said.
"It will be a wonderland of workshops, exhibitions, fitness challenges and activities, imaginative food, original and popular music, as well as an exclusive artisan market promoting only handmade items for sale."
Morisset High School would be an ideal venue for Time Out as it offered a range of outdoor areas, outdoor covered spaces, large halls, courtyards and classrooms to host the varied activities and stalls planned at the festival, she said.
One of the main objectives of Time Out was to provide a platform to showcase the talents of Lake Macqurie artists, musicians, crafters, producers, and sporting groups, she said.
"Attendees will have an opportunity to explore, gain insight into, and try out something a bit different or rekindle forgotten interests and hobbies," Ms Shing said.
Interactive activities for young and old would "excite the psyche" and get people thinking about balancing work and other stressors with Time Out for fun - either individually or via teams or community groups - that helps to restore balance and wellbeing physically, mentally and emotionally.
Stalls and exhibits from sporting clubs would be a feature of Time Out, she said.
