Joining him on the A Day on the Green festival circuit is special guest and long-time friend Jason Mraz, who last performed in Australia six years ago, and Australian singer-songwriter Olympia who will be making her A Day On The Green debut.
Blunt has just released his sixth album, Once Upon A Mind, to critical acclaim. More importantly, though, he feels it is his best and most honest album to date. The Newcastle Herald spoke to the charming and self-deprecating Brit about the album and upcoming tour earlier this week. You can read all about it in Weekender on November 30.
It's been 15 years since he released blockbuster 2004 debut album Back To Bedlam and the global hit You're Beautiful. The chart-topping superstar - made famous by his honest, heartfelt songs and hilarious social media posts - has amassed more than 67 million streams in Australia to date and sold 23 million albums worldwide. He has been nominated for five Grammy Awards.
Fans will instantly recognise Blunt in the video for Cold, filmed in the Welsh countryside, mirroring the iconic music video to You're Beautiful. Cold reflects where he's come from - and where he's now going.
Mraz's soulful folk-pop sound has led to 7 million album sales, two Grammy Awards and honours at the Songwriters Hall of Fame. His hits include the record-breaking I'm Yours, I Won't Give Up, Love Is Still The Answer and The Remedy (I Won't Worry). He is currently recording new music for release in 2020.
Mraz sits on the board of the ASCAP Foundation and also runs the Jason Mraz Foundation, which advocates for inclusive arts education and the advancement of equality. He's also at the helm of Mraz Family Farms, committed to peace via organic regenerative agriculture and fair trade.
Olympia found fame with her 2016 debut album, Self Talk, which was a finalist in the Australian Music Prize for Album of the Year and led to a nomination for Breakthrough Artist at the ARIA Awards. She released her second album, Flamingo, earlier this year.
