In a statement on Tuesday, the government body said public safety was the key motivation behind the closure.
"Public safety is a priority and the closure will be reviewed weekly, however it is likely to remain in place until there is widespread rain," a spokesman said.
"The extremely dry conditions mean any fires which start can escalate and spread very quickly, putting visitors at risk.
"Camping and day use areas, boat ramps, carparks, roads, trails, walking tracks, beaches, river and lake shorelines in Myall lakes National Park are closed.
"Bennetts beach accessed from Hawks Nest remains open."
Waterways remain open but all land within the park is closed. Landing by boat is also prohibited.
Midcoast Council is under level four water restrictions apart from at Hawks Nest and Tea Gardens, where level four restrictions are enforced.
Level four restrictions ban all outdoor water use.
Announcing the severe restrictions in November, Midcoast Council's director of infrastructure and engineering services Rob Scott said it was an "unprecedented water shortage in the history of our water supply service".
"It is going to take major rainfall events to change our situation," he said.
The closure of the park north of the Hunter adds to a range of parks in Sydney that are closed until further notice.
As the bushfire crisis continues, all south coast parks and Kosciuszko National Park are off limits under the state of emergency declared late last week.
