Five NSW Ambulance units were called to the scene just after 1.30pm after reports a vehicle had gone over 15 metre embankment. A Westpac Rescue Helicopter crew were called to standby.
Glencore said the employee, and sole occupant of the vehicle, was treated by paramedics and the mine's emergency response team at the scene before they were taken to Singleton Hospital for observation.
The employee suffered chest, pelvic and hip pain as a result of the crash, and fell unconscious for a brief time, but a spokesperson for NSW Ambulance said they were conscious and breathing when paramedics arrived.
They were taken to Singleton Hopsital in a stable condition for further observation.
The incident has been reported to the Resources Regulator and an investigation into the incident is underway, Glencore said in a statement.
