Hunter Water is anticipating the situation will be restored by 12.30pm.
Meanwhile, a water outage at Georgetown is impacting part of Asher Street and Christo Road.
The outage was reported at about 9.30am and Hunter Water is expecting it to be fixed by 1pm.
Hunter Water requests that people contact them immediately on 1300 657 000 if they notice a major water leak, have no water or see anything causing harm or property damage.
As of Monday, Hunter Water dropped water restrictions in Newcastle and the Lower Hunter to Level 1.
Residents should do their outdoor watering before 10am or after 4pm with a trigger nozzle.
All hoses must have a trigger nozzle, hosing of hard surfaces is not allowed, car washing requires a trigger nozzle and sprinkles cannot be used.
