Robinson has delivered an encylopedia of information since taking the reins four weeks ago. Much of the theory on how the Welshman views the game and the style he wants to play has flowed during the bye round.
On Sunday, Robinson will find out how much of the intel has been absorbed when the Jets take on Adelaide at Coopers Stadium.
"I have a ten-week period to find what these players are about," Robinson said. "When your backs are up against the wall, that is when you find out about characters. I want people who are committed - who want to work, who want to learn - and obviously be part of what we want to build here."
The match is also a chance for the Jets to edge closer to the top six.
Adelaide are in seventh place on 27 points, below Western United on goal difference. Western United have the bye this week and a win against the Reds would propel the Jets to 21 points and within striking distance.
"We are at the point of the season, where we are on the outside looking in," Robinson said. "Not many people expect us to get where we want to get. We are on the outside, but we will give it a go."
Jets defender Nikolai Topor-Stanley, who produced a wonder strike to inspire the Jets to a 2-1 upset of Perth, said the players have not given up on the play-offs.
"While it is still possible, you have to keep pushing," said Topor-Stanley, who has played every minute for a third straight season. "You have to put your best foot forward. That is what winners do. It might not pay dividends immediately, it is what we are building towards in the long term."
"Sometimes in football you get the odd result here or there," Robinson said. "That was the case for Adelaide last week. It doesn't happen too often. They are a very good team and are coached very well. They have certain players in key areas who are very dangerous and they have a lot of pace. We have to expect a bounce back from them."
Former Welsh international Joe Ledley is likely to make his debut for the Jets off the bench. Abdiel Arroyo has been hampered by a tight hamstring and faces a fitness test at training Saturday.
The Jets were in a position to beat Adelaide in the previous two encounters this campaign, but paid the price for poor finishing on the way to 2-1 losses in each.
