Two men, aged 28 and 35, have been charged after one man allegedly threatened police with a knife as they arrived on the scene Tuesday following reports of a brawl on Fowler Street.
Police said Thursday evening that another man, aged 22, had been charged following allegations he kicked the door of their police vehicle during the incident before running from the scene.
Investigations led officers to arrest the man in Hamilton South while on patrol in the area, police said.
He was taken to Newcastle Police Station where he was charged with possessing prohibited drug, malicious damage, and affray. He was refused bail and was expected to face court Thursday.
