Newcastle is set to welcome a new two-day musical event to the city on May 29 and 30 when The Station hosts BCUBED.
Due to the COVID-safe restrictions on dancing, electronic music has been virtually non-existent in public forums for the past year.
That is set to change with BCUBED to feature hip-hop artist Kobie Dee and alt-rapper Blessed as headliners, plus support from emerging players Jannah Beth, Glo, XNYWOLF, Luna Menta, Butterknife, Pikou Panez, Issa Mane & The Casio Treaders, and house DJs Professor Crabb and Uncle Fiesta.
We see BCUBED as something that runs through and for the community, rather than an event that is just in the community.
- BCUBED promoter, Kai Mcgilvray
The beats will be paired with craft drinks from local producers Cattleyard Brewing Co and Earp Distillery and food from Boys & Grills.
"BCUBED is a stress-free zone where you can relax with your homies, ice-cold brew in hand, as the sun sets and the music serenades you," promotor Kai Mcgilvray said. "We see BCUBED as something that runs through and for the community, rather than an event that is just in the community."
BCUBED will run from 5-10pm on May 29 and 3-8pm on May 30.
