Rainfall is predicted to douse Newcastle again from Thursday, settling in towards the weekend while the mercury dips slightly to maximums in the low 20s.
The chance of rain rises to 90 per cent from Thursday, remaining equally high into next weekend.
The rain appears likely to settle in for several days of at least some showers. Saturday has the likelihood of the most falls, with between five and 15 millimetres forecast in Newcastle.
The news is a little better on the temperature front.
Overnight minimums are expected to remain in the teens on the coast, while holding firm in the low double digits further up the valley. The weather appears too warm for early snow to arrive at Barrington Tops, where temperatures are expected to stay comfortably above freezing.
