The Big Day Out is an annual free community event celebrating International Day of People with Disability (IDPWD) which is organised by the Kempsey Shire Council and Macleay Disability Inclusion Group.
Chairperson of the Macleay Disability Inclusion Group Lisa Reed said the day was all about inclusion in the community.
"This is an event that brings everybody together and they can see what services are available in the local area for people with disability," she said.
"It's really important we recognise people with disability because they have the right to access everything the same as we do and all it takes is us to be a little bit considerate when we're...putting events together or building a new shop."
The Macleay Disability Inclusion Group organised another successful event earlier this year with the sold out Glitz and Glamour Ball.
"[The Big Day Out] and the Ball just makes me feel so happy and so proud because you look around and we have happy faces," Ms Reed said.
"This day proves what the local community is like and we are becoming a very very inclusive community.
"I'm very very proud to be part of the Macleay community because every event we hold is really supported and it's lovely to see."
