Smarter waste services, better play spaces and sporting grounds, new footpaths and cycle ways, safer roads, innovative tourism marketing and more accessible community facilities are some of the many improvements the council has made during the first year of this ambitious work program.
We plan to build on this success in the year ahead, as outlined in our Draft Operational Plan 2014-2015.
The draft plan forecasts an exciting year for our city as the council continues to deliver the same high-quality services our residents have told us they want, expect and rely on, while implementing works to upgrade infrastructure and facilities throughout the city.
Planning for the future of our city is one of the key responsibilities of the council, and we do this in partnership with the community.
The draft plan for 2014-2015 is on public exhibition throughout May, and I encourage anyone interested in the future of our city to view the plan and have their say.
The public exhibition period allows everyone an opportunity to review the draft plan and provide feedback on how well the council has responded to community priorities.
