At No 1 Sportsground, in what many predicted to be a grand final preview, Newcastle City proved too strong for Terrigal Avoca, winning 15.4 (94) to 9.17 (71).
Warners Bay kept its finals hopes alive after surviving a late fightback from a Jimmy Byers-inspired Singleton at Rose Point Park, 12.8 (80) to 11.11 (77).
Killarney Vale remains in second place on the ladder with a convincing 17.14 (116) to 7.17 (59) win against Nelson Bay at Adelaide St Oval.
The Bombers held sway for most of the match.
Cardiff had the bye.
In first division, Newcastle City moved into second position with a hard-fought 26-point win over Terrigal Avoca; Wyong Lakes defeated Warners Bay; while Cardiff and Killarney Vale had wins over Nelson Bay and Lake Macquarie respectively.
