With more than 25 stalls, the 44th instalment of the carnival is looking bigger and better than ever.
This year the proceeds will go towards the upkeep of the church's community centre, with 15 per cent supporting Uniting Church Missions.
Mrs Gill said 140 church members had volunteered to help with this year's event.
She said the home cooking stall was the first place everyone went.
"The home cooking is the most popular thing we have and is always sold out by 11am," Mrs Gill said.
For the first time, the church had an antique dealer price the donated items for this year's Treasure Trove.
This year there will be an Encaustic art demonstration, also known as beeswax art. The demonstration will show the process of taking a plain surface such as wood or canvas and applying heated beeswax, which is then etched.
Mrs Gill said there were so many book donations this year that they had to separate the children's books from the rest.
"There are hundreds and hundreds of books this year; we have over 10 tables worth to fill the stall," she said.
■ The carnival will be held this Saturday, October 25, from 8am to 2pm at St Luke's Uniting Church, Narla Road, Belmont North. The art exhibition and sales will be held on Friday, October 24, from 4pm to 8pm, and Saturday, October 25, from 9am to 2pm.
