Since opening, we have welcomed more than 600,000 local, national and international visitors to this cultural facility.
The museum has had some extraordinary exhibitions over the past 12 months, from local community shows such as Night Owls, to the blockbuster Making of Midnight Oil and Permian Monsters.
Then and Now, which commemorated 25 years since the Newcastle earthquake, was an engaging experience, with many visitors stopping to reflect on where they were then and how their lives have changed since.
The talented staff put a great deal of effort into developing exhibitions, hosting events and caring for the collection.
Sometimes it's the simple things people love the best, such as our regular Tuesday Tales book readings, Teddy Bear picnics and science shows that bring in the younger crowds.
We also love trying new things, like hosting the Rubik's Cube competition and our treasure hunt.
We've recently introduced the Museum Express program, where we visit primary schools across the Hunter and Central Coast to deliver high quality and engaging science shows linked to the NSW and Australian curriculum.
Thank-you to all of the museum's visitors, partners, volunteers, supporters and friends for sharing the past four years with us.
Our success is also thanks to you and we look forward to the years to come.
