Lake Macquarie's Detective Sergeant Kristi Faber wins at NSW Police Officer of the Year Awards

Detective Sergeant Faber took out the NSW Rotary Customer Service Excellence Award category at the event in Darling Harbour on Friday night.

Her work investigating child sexual abuse in the Hunter has led to charges against more than 15 church offenders.

The NSW Police said the evening allowed the force's best "to shine and be acknowledged for their professional excellence and dedication".
