Alex and Margarita Ang are now operating from The Gardens greyhound racing complex on Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays from 5pm.
Mrs Ang said the complex's CEO, who had been a long-term regular at their previous address, approached them about relocating.
"We opened last Wednesday [November 4] without any advertising and all our regulars came back; the restaurant was full," Mrs Ang said.
"It was so nice and made us so happy.
"Having reduced hours also gives us more time to relax and go to Sydney to visit our daughter."
The Newcastle Herald received an avalanche of Facebook comments after it reported the south-east Asian restaurant was going to close on September 28 after 41 years in Nelson Street, Wallsend.
