The information provided by the survey will help council prioritise projects for the 2017-2018 financial year.
Respondents to the community surveys have been asked to rate the level of importance of 32 council services and facilities and their satisfaction with them since 1993. The tracking survey is an invaluable way for Council to regularly assess its performance against a range of measures. We have a great deal of data about what is important to our community and how satisfied they are with the services we provide.
This survey is a great chance for community members to have their say on how we prioritise projects and funding allocations for the 12 months from July next year.
We are due to adopt the plan and budget for the 2016/2017 financial year at the end of June and the planning for the following year is well underway. Developing operational plans and budgets has a long lead time and taking part in the survey is the perfect opportunity to be involved in decision-making.
We are committed to restoring trust and collaborative leadership through community engagement like this, as we refocus on delivering a financially sound council and a smart, liveable and sustainable city. The survey closes midnight, June 12. Visit newcastle.nsw.gov.au.
