Indigenous Footprints is the theme for Blackbutt Reserve’s Junior Ranger Fun Day at Richley Reserve on Tuesday, July 5 between 11am and 1pm.
There will be a feast of activities including arts and crafts, face painting, animal encounters and jumping castles.
No bookings are required but parental supervision is compulsory and children must wear fully enclosed shoes.
Richley Reserve is off Freyberg Street in New Lambton.

ART PROGRAMS
Newcastle Art Gallery has an array of activities to spark the creative in every child.
Watercolour painting is the theme of the first week of the holidays and from July 5 to July 8 there will be 10am, 11.30am and 1pm sessions.
While you are there, take a guided tour of the Hermannsburg watercolours on display in the exhibition BLACK WHITE & RESTIVE and create your own watercolour painting.
In the second week of the holidays, children get to create their own stick art sculpture.
Sessions will be held at 10am, 11.30am and 1pm every day from July 12 to July 15.
The focus will be on the different colours and textures of fibre, wool and wood, all inspired by works of art on display in the exhibition BLACK WHITE & RESTIVE.
All of the sessions are $10 per child and are suitable for five to 12-year-olds.

SCIENCE LABS
Turn scientist at Newcastle Museum these holidays with experiments galore in the specially set up lab.
Onlookers will get to see chemical reactions, explosions and much more with free science sessions on Tuesdays and Thursdays throughout the holidays with start times of 11.15am, 12.15pm and 1.15pm.
No bookings are needed.
There will also be opportunities for mining and crafting with LEGO on July 6 and 13 at 10am, 11am and noon.
These sessions are for ages five and over and cost $10 and bookings are essential on 4974 1401.
NAIDOC WEEK
Celebrate NAIDOC week at Newcastle Region Libraries by creating Aboriginal animal sculptures, and exploring our Indigneous heritage through stories and music.
