The pair performed some of the stand-out songs from the Vanda and Young songbook – Pasadena, Falling in Love Again, Yesterday’s Hero, and the enduring JPY favourite Love is in the Air – at the Cancer Council fundraiser at Club Catalina (formerly Rathmines Memorial Bowling Club).
The event is organised by Michael and Pamela Hart and the team at their real estate office of Century 21 Gallery, at Rathmines.
Mr Hart said $3,500 was raised by participants who gathered to offer support for those who have lost family and friends to cancer, those recently diagnosed, and those currently receiving treatment or in remission.
The 2016 quilt sewn by Fiona Coppins was raffled and won by Margaret d’Arcey, of Wangi Shores, Mr Hart said.
“And the lucky door prize dinner at Amanda’s on the Edge, at Pokolbin, was won by Rebecca Stocker, a Wangi businesswoman.”
Mr Hart said the pink ribbon event sells out every year.
“Bookings are already open for the 2017 pink ribbon function on 4975 4499,” he said.
