Dillon collected the gong for best journalism from rural, regional or suburban media at the ASC’s annual presentation dinner on Thursday, for five feature stories he wrote about Newcastle athletes and sports teams.
He won the same award in 2014 and contributed to a winning joint entry in 2012.
