A FILM that starred a "scary man" won Ivy Latimer and Erin Kebby second place in Shoot Out's under 18 category last year.

This year they hope a "granny" will help them go one better.
The girls, aged 13, are ready to prove the amateur film festival, which starts tomorrow night, isn't just for their more seasoned counterparts.
Shoot Out allows filmmakers only 24 hours to produce a short film with scenes shot in a linear sequence. The two young directors already have costumes and a script planned.
"The rest is secret we don't want to waste the surprise," Ms Latimer said.
Ms Kebby said as long as you could write a script and work a camera, age didn't matter.
"Last year we thought others were so much older and had more experience, but we didn't let it worry us," Ms Kebby said.
It's the second time the Hunter School of Performing Arts students will enter the competition along with friend and classmate Tahlia Smith.
This year, their inspiration is classic films. More than 100 filmmakers registered in the junior category of the competition last year.
