The exhibition, David Fairbairn: Drawn to Print pairs drawings from 2010 to 2016 with subsequent prints made of the same sitters created during the period 2015 to 2017.
Fairbairn won the 1999 Dobell Drawing Prize, and the 2002 Doug Moran National Portrait Prize, and has had 29 solo shows and 147 group exhibitions.
Fairbairn’s exhibition will coincide with another, Art(ful) Futures, by a group of emerging artists who have had a lived experience of mental illness.
Fairbairn and the young artists will be present at the official opening at the gallery on Sunday, October 22, at 2pm.
Gallery director, Debbie Abraham, will host the official opening. This is a free event, and refreshments will be served. All are welcome.
Both exhibitions will be open at the gallery in Booragul until December 3.
