All things Elvis Presley will be celebrated as the festival swivels and thrusts its way across two Lake Macquarie locations over three days.
“They don’t call him the king for nothing,” Mr Kidd said. “He was a triple-threat performer, singing, dancing and acting.”
“I think Elvis had everything. There is nobody that compares from the start of rock’n’roll till now.
“He was one of those guys that could belt out a rock tune, he has an amazing voice for ballads.
“He had over 100 records go platinum … he was a pop-culture icon.”
The family-friendly festival, staged at Charlestown Bowling Club and Speers Point Park, is not just for hard-core Elvis fans.
“It’s one of those events that caters for everyone,” Mr Kidd said. “It’s fantastic and it’s growing every year.”
“Mums, dads, grandparents come. Kids play in the park.”
At least 10 Elvises are expected to enter the Elvis Tribute artist competition.
“They just love dressing up as Elvis and performing as Elvis,” Mr Kidd said.
But many other Elvises are expected to be in attendance. Attendees are invited to get into the spirit and also dress as Elvis.
