Glen Moss re-signs with Newcastle Jets for 2018/2019 season

Coach Ernie Merrick said the Kiwi international, Merrick’s first signing at the Jets, had been “truly significant” for the team.

“Glen has been fantastic for the group, from the minute he arrived in Newcastle he’s been first class,” Merrick said. 

“When required to step into the starting role, he was outstanding – putting in a couple of man-of-the-match performances and making some unbelievable saves.”

“The experience he offers, his presence around the squad and in particular, his work with Jack Duncan has been invaluable.

Moss has made 214 appearances in the A-League for Wellington, Gold Coast and Melbourne Victory. He also has 29 appearances for the All Whites. 

He singled out his work with young keeper Jack Duncan as a highlight of his time at Turton Road. 

“Ever since arriving in Newcastle with my family, we’ve felt right at home,” Moss said.

“It’s been really enjoyable working with Jack and [goalkeeping coach] Chris Bowling and I’m excited to continue improving and contributing to the squad.

“Lawrie (McKinna), Ernie and the entire club have been brilliant and I’m really enjoying my football at the moment, it was an easy decision to sign on for another season.
