The Knights’ NSW Cup fullback left the field just 15 minutes into his side’s 28-all draw with Manly feeder club Blacktown with fears he may have suffered a broken foot.
He was checked on the sideline by Knights high performance boss Tony Ayoub before he walked up the tunnel to the dressingroom.
It was only when he re-emerged a few minutes later on crutches with his left foot wrapped in ice that the serious nature of his injury was revealed.
“The fear is he may have a cracked bone in his foot,”a Knights source said.
“Hopefully, if it’s a crack, it will only be a small one but we won’t know until he has scans.”
This time last season, the Knights lost NRL fullback Dylan Phythian for the season after he torn the anterior cruciate ligament in his knee.
It was a frustrating first up performance from Simon Woolford’s side.
The Knights led 22-10 at halftime but trailed late before edging ahead, only to give up a late penalty goal.
