Rotary District 9670 Governor Helen Ryan said the awards were a fantastic opportunity to recognise the contribution made by emergency services workers.
“These awards allow the community to celebrate the many quiet achievers who work tirelessly to ensure the safety of others in times of disaster and devastation,” Mrs Ryan said.
“Emergency services workers are some of the hardest working people in our community and this is an opportunity to thank them for the work they do”.
Nominations are open for individuals who come from the following emergency services:
- Fire & Rescue NSW;
- Marine Rescue NSW;
- NSW Ambulance;
- NSW Rural Fire Service;
- NSW State Emergency Service; and
- NSW Volunteer Rescue Association.
Every day, locals seek the assistance and support of emergency services workers, and Rotary believes it is only fitting that their service is recognised through these awards.
“Rotary values the opportunity to celebrate the service and sacrifice of emergency services personnel,” Mrs Ryan said.
“In our towns and cities, there are many emergency services workers that give so much to their community. This is an ideal opportunity to thank them for their exemplary community service.”
Finalists will attend an awards presentation dinner at Bankstown Sports Club on Friday, June 1, where winners for each service will be announced.
Nominations close on Wednesday, March 28, and can be submitted by visiting rotaryescawards.org.au
