POLICE are seeking information after a man was struck in the head with a firearm during a Lake Macquarie home invasion on Sunday morning.
The 77-year-old was woken by someone knocking on the front door of his Penylan Street home just after 1am.
A short time later three men forced their way into the property and confronted the man before striking him.
The trio had their faces concealed. They demanded money before fleeing with a wallet and mobile phone.
A neighbour came to his assistance and contacted police.
The resident was taken to the John Hunter hospital with a minor head injury, police said.
