Last weekend proved to be a mixed bag for offshore and rock fishos alike, with a large swell coming up Friday night and cancelling most fishing activities all day Saturday.

Sunday proved to be much better with conditions settling down - allowing for some great offshore fishing. Good snapper were taking up and down part of the coast, anglers scored good catches of large squire and snapper in the 20-30 metre depth range.
This coming weekend should provide similar conditions hopefully allowing another crack at these fish up and down the coast. Also, not to be forgotten this time of year are the great opportunities of land-based snapper-fishing with these fish moving in close to feed as shown in the picture of the week with lucky Central Coast angler Damon Gerber and friends spotted by the author fishing the rock platforms around Swansea. They caught a nice stack of bream and trevally which were all released but also a cracking snapper around 2kg - all taken on lightly weighted prawns.
Reports by the game fishos of some large yellow fin at the car park and still reports of blue fin coming from Sydney and south Sydney area.
