David Phelan is marketing the four-bedroom Merewether Heights home with a guide of $1.2 million.
The Dalton Partners agent said there had been good interest for the brick residence, which has an inground pool, covered alfresco area and open plan living.
“At the moment the market is probably not as conducive to marketing by auction as it has been in the past couple of years,” Mr Phelan said.
“However, this property is in arguably one of the best streets in Merewether Heights, which is so sought-after. It gets hardly any traffic through and the blocks are level.
“That’s the first real bonus. It’s in the Quarter Deck and it’s a level block. The second thing that’s really good about it is the home was built new 18 years ago and its floorplan is really family friendly.”
The auction is set down for 10.30am.
Tighes Hill Triple
First National Newcastle City are expecting competition for a Tighes Hill home which sits on nearly 1000 square metres in size and is on the market for the first time in over 30 years.
The three-bedroom home at 12 John Street was built in 1917 and sits on a triple block zoned R2 Low Density Residential.
It goes to auction on site on Saturday at 2.15pm with a price guide of $1.2 million to $1.3 million.
Appletree Rd sale
A renovated 100-year-old home in West Wallsend’s Appletree Road on 1341 square metres of land was bought by a Swansea couple at auction for $795,000 on August 18.
The five-bedroom residence was marketed by Belle Property Charlestown’s Sam Taylor who said it was “the highest sale price for a home on a suburban block in West Wallsend”.
“The only property in the suburb to sell for more was a large acreage,” he said.
