Police are appealing for public information after a woman was threatened with a gun and punched in the face at Wyong last night.

About 10pm Tuesday a 37-year-old woman was approached from behind by three men on Hope Street.
The trio threatened the woman with the firearm, robbed and assaulted her, before they left the area. They were last seen heading toward Alison Road.
The incident was reported to officers from Tuggerah Lakes Police District and an investigation was launched.

An extensive search of the area was conducted but the trio were not located.
All three men are described as being of Caucasian appearance, aged between 15 and 20 years old, about 160 centimetres tall and with a thin build.
At the time of the incident one of the men was wearing a black-hooded jumper, black cap and shorts, while a second man was also wearing a black-hooded jumper and brown shorts.
The third man was wearing a brown and white jacket and long pants.
Police are seeking any witnesses or anyone with mobile phone or dashcam vision of the incident to come forward.
