Arcadia Vale, Coal Point, Wangi Wangi, Fassifern and Speers Point public schools have opened their gates to the community as part of the state government’s Share Our Space program.
“The Share Our Space program provides valuable opportunities for local children and families to get out and play,” Parliamentary Secretary for the Central Coast and Hunter, Scot MacDonald, said.
“I’m pleased the NSW government is thinking outside the box to provide open play areas for our local community, and putting school assets to good use.”
The move is also seen to boost security at the participating schools.
Participating schools receive a $5000 grant they can use to help upgrade their facilities for community and school use.
The Share Our Space program is part of the state government’s $290 million Open Spaces and Green Sydney package.
The participating schools are will be open from October 1 to 12, from 8am to 5pm.
