The Bureau of Metereology (BOM) has forecast showers every day up to next Saturday, which it predicts will also be partly cloudy with a 50 per cent chance of rain.
The BOM’s forecast for the Newcastle area on Monday is for a partly cloudy day, with temperatures between 13 and 22 and a 70 per cent chance of rain, most likely in the morning and afternoon.
There is also the chance of a thunderstorm in the afternoon and evening.
There is a 40 per cent chance of showers in the evening on Tuesday, an 80 per cent chance of showers on Wednesday in the morning and afternoon, a 40 per cent chance of showers on Thursday, most likely during the afternoon and evening and a 50 per cent chance of showers on Friday.
BOM data from Nobbys shows 24.6 millimetres of rain fell in the 24 hours to 9am on Saturday, zero in the 24 hours to 9am on Sunday and then another 6.2mm to 6.30pm.
At Williamtown, 38.6mm fell in the 24 hours to 9am Saturday, 0.4 mm to 9am Sunday and 6.8mm to 6.30pm.
