The second stage of the Sparks Road bridge widening continues with the installation of work platforms under the bridge.
“Partial closures of the M1 at the Warnervale interchange will be required while this work is carried out for the safety of motorists and workers,” a spokesperson for Roads and Maritime Services said.
“A short detour along the existing entry and exit ramps at Sparks Road will be in place to allow motorists to continue their journey with minimal disruption.”
Traffic control will be in place and a 40kmh speed limit will be enforced within the detour location.
Earlier this year:
Full closures and detours on the M1 Pacific Motorway northbound will be in place at night from Sunday, October 21, to Saturday, October 27.
The closures will be in place from 8.30pm to 4.30am from Sunday to Wednesday, from 9pm to 4.30am on Thursday, and from 10.30pm to 5.30am on Friday, weather permitting.
The existing 80kmh speed limit for the Tuggerah-to-Doyalson upgrade will remain in place on the M1.
“In addition to this bridge work, single-lane closures of the M1 will also be necessary in both directions in the first week of November and detours occasionally thereafter until December,” the spokesperson said.
“Motorists are advised to drive to the conditions and follow the directions of signs and traffic control. Roads and Maritime Services thanks motorists for their patience during this time.”
