AUTUMN is coming and it's time to prepare for trans-seasonal dressing.
The place to ease yourself into winter and warmer clothing will be at Raid My Wardrobe’s first Newcastle market for 2019
On March 24, the popular quality women’s pre-loved event will be packed with high-end clothing, shoes, handbags, jewellery and accessories from 50 stall holders.
"With thousands of pre-loved pieces on sale - from brands like Sass & Bide, Lisa Ho, Leona Edmiston, Veronika Maine, Alannah Hill, Mimco and Vintage - finding a jacket, ballet flats, pants or knits to help you go from crisp mornings to warm afternoons will be a breeze," founder Rachel Prest said
Raid My Wardrobe has partnered with the newly formed Hunter branch Dress for Success, a not-for-profit that supports women in need by providing access to good quality professional clothing, styling, mentoring and training.
The not-for-profit is about helping women looking for work, and also preparing for activities such as court appearances and formal appointments.
Ms Prest said she had chosen Dress For Success because it brought awareness about the real difficulties some women face and how women can help each other.
"At the end of the day stallholders would donate some quality professional clothing, shoes and handbags to the charity," she said.
"We feel privileged knowing we are gifting women with essential, professional clothing items that can assist with their self-dignity and worth and economically empower [them]."
Dress for Success volunteer Kate Davies said she was thrilled about the partnership.
“Collaborating with Raid My Wardrobe will be a great opportunity for us to achieve some important aims," Ms Davies said.
"We hope to connect with amazing women in our region who can become advocates and even volunteers with us.”
Dress For Success is on March 24, at Newcastle Basketball Stadium, Broadmeadow, from 10am to 1pm.
Entry is $5 at door or pre-purchase to jump the queue.
