After an hour of searching, they found the site, and discovered a collection of plastic chairs, tables and other rubbish.
But how to remove it?
The solution came in the form of Lion Doug Messenger’s tinny.
The rubbish was loaded on the boat with the help of Doug’s wife, Kerry, and transported back to Wangi Wangi for subsequent collection on Clean Up Australia Day.
It was part of Wangi Clean Up Australia Day activities convened by Wangi Lions.
Lion Warren Jeffers said the community had again provided great support for the town.
“It was pleasing to see that the clean up was well supported by so many cheerful and motivated people with more people participating than ever this year.”
